Job Overview:
The Electrical Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of a team of electricians on construction sites. The role involves planning work in advance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and developing the workforce through ongoing training and development. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of electrical systems, and possess relevant certification.

Key Responsibilities:
Work Planning and Coordination: Plan and schedule electrical work activities well in advance to ensure efficient project progression.
Allocate tasks to electricians based on project requirements, skill sets, and availability.
Collaborate with other site supervisors and the Electrical Superintendent to align electrical work with the overall project schedule.
Ensure that all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available for the team to complete their tasks effectively.

Team Management: Lead and manage a team of electricians, providing clear direction, support, and motivation.
Conduct daily briefings to communicate project goals, safety requirements, and any changes to the work plan.
Monitor the performance of electricians, providing feedback, guidance, and additional training where necessary.
Address any on-site issues or conflicts promptly to maintain a productive and positive working environment.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all electrical installations comply with relevant health and safety regulations, company policies, and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks to reinforce safe working practices.
Promote a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols.
Report and address any safety concerns or incidents immediately to the Electrical Superintendent.

Inspection and Testing: Carry out inspection and testing of electrical installations in accordance with the 2391 Inspection and Testing certification.
Ensure all electrical work meets the required standards and specifications before signing off.
Identify any faults or issues during testing and take corrective action to resolve them.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and certifications.

Quality Control: Ensure that all electrical work is completed to the highest quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections of work carried out by the electricians to ensure it meets project specifications.
Address any quality issues promptly, coordinating with the Electrical Superintendent as necessary.
Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain consistency across the project.

Workforce Development: Identify training and development needs within the team and arrange relevant training sessions.
Mentor and support the professional growth of electricians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Encourage team members to stay up-to-date with industry best practices, regulations, and new technologies.
Work with the Electrical Superintendent to develop career progression opportunities for the electrical workforce.

Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit daily or weekly progress reports to the Electrical Superintendent, highlighting key achievements and any challenges.
Maintain accurate records of work activities, including timesheets, material usage, and inspection/test results.
Assist in the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and other necessary documentation.

Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
2391 Inspection and Testing certification (or equivalent).
ECS Gold Card holder.
IPAF 3a/3b certification.
SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
Strong IT skills, particularly in SharePoint and Excel.
First Aid at Work certification.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within the electrical construction industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Experience with modern construction management software.
Working Conditions:
The role is primarily site-based with occasional visits to various project locations.
Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
Salary: £35.29ph PAYE
