Electrician - Refurb Operations



Overview



We’re seeking an exceptional Electrician - Refurb Operations to join our expanding team. As an Electrician - Refurb Operations, you will perform high-quality periodic electrical inspections, installations, and repairs. You’ll work efficiently and safely, with the opportunity to adapt to a diverse daily workload. While basic knowledge of joinery is preferred, it isn’t a must. Your role as Electrician - Refurb Operations includes first and second fix electrical installations, daily inspections on our fleet of cabins, and reactive maintenance for 230v and hybrid cabins with low voltage & PV systems. Occasionally, you may be required to carry out stud works, board, and trim. The daily workload will also involve learning software systems and off-hiring units. Testing and commissioning of old and new installations is a key requirement for this Electrician - Refurb Operations position.



Attention to detail is crucial as you complete unit preparation. Your comprehensive understanding of electrical installation techniques and workspace maintenance will significantly impact the role. This fundamental position offers direct support to the Refurb/Hire operations team and plays an integral part in delivering safety and quality on time.



Hours: 39.5 hrs basic - Monday – Thursday 06:30am - 3:45pm & Friday - 06:30am - 12:30pm



Salary: £18.00 / hr - £36,972 per annum

You’ll be responsible for:




  • Supporting the refurb/fleet manager, supervisors, and team leaders with the delivery of quality work.

  • Working closely with workshop fitters, wash bay, yard personnel, and transport to meet daily operational expectations.

  • Cross-departmental collaboration and potentially supporting other depots through periods of annual leave.

  • Identifying damage and capturing chargeable costs using IT systems and processes.

  • Ensuring all testing and work are completed in line with IET regulations.

  • Diagnosing electrical and electronic systems (both AC and DC), inspecting equipment, and carrying out portable appliance testing.

  • Supporting the wider team and conducting on-site work when required.

  • Managing consumable usage and parts, ensuring good cost control.

  • Monitoring work quality to minimize errors and meet KPI targets.

  • Adhering to all health and safety policies, maintaining a high standard of workspace upkeep, and following 5S working standards.

  • Performing general laboring duties and any reasonable tasks as needed.

  • Meeting KPIs, targets, and objectives.



We’re looking for someone with these essentials:




  • NVQ L3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.

  • 18th Edition qualification.

  • Full UK driving license.

  • Ability to supply your own tools.



These qualities would be a great help:




  • Low voltage DC & PV experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

  • Experience within a multi-trade background is desirable, hire repair/reactive repair background, site welfare sector.
