Role Overview

As a Solar Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This is a field-based role requiring hands-on technical skills, strong electrical knowledge, and a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and commission solar PV systems on a variety of properties.


• Carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on existing solar installations.


• Diagnose electrical issues in solar PV systems and provide effective solutions.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.


• Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure project success.


• Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information clearly to clients.

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.


• 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations certification.


• Proven experience in electrical installations, preferably with solar PV systems.


• Strong understanding of electrical diagrams, wiring, and schematics.


• Knowledge of health and safety standards, including safe working practices in the renewable energy sector.


• Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

• Experience with solar PV system installation and maintenance.


• Knowledge of inverter setup and commissioning.


• Solar PV qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Solar PV qualification) is a plus.
