Position: Electrician
Location: Galashiels, Scottish Borders
Position Type: Contract

�250 per day

Must have JIB gold card and DOMS Water card

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join our team at a water treatment plant in Galashiels. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vital industry, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within the water treatment plant.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to support ongoing plant operations and improvements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial or water treatment environment.
• Electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, 17th/18th Edition, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panels.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Health and safety-conscious, with a commitment to safe working practices.
• Full UK driving license (due to the location of the plant).

Desirable:

• Experience working in water treatment or similar industries.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and SCADA would be beneficial.
