ABOUT THE ROLE:
As an EMC Engineer, you will be an important and pivotal member of the compliance team, providing support and extensive technical guidance.
You will work collaboratively with our product design teams and key stakeholders across the business,
from early development through to start of production and beyond
, ensuring products comply with global product standards, supporting a ‘
design for compliance’
approach.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING:
Collaborating with external suppliers and testing organisations to coordinate and manage test programs.
Effectively working with the wider R&D team during new product development to ensure that new products are suitable for approval.
Lead a small team of Specialist Engineers / Technicians
Ensuring compliance testing activities run smoothly using effective planning and reporting tools.
Collate data suitable for inclusion into the technical files, ensuring that all relevant data is accurate and satisfies FCC, UL, CE, LVD, Machinery Directive, EMC, RoHS, REACH etc.
Assist in the management of the certification library of approved products.
Ensure all compliance risks/issues are identified and effectively communicated.
Assist in the development of training modules and delivering guidance to internal teams.
ABOUT YOU
:
HNC/HND level in a relevant Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline
or have significant experience in a similar role. Strong understanding of EMC testing and challenges
(Emissions/Immunity) on domestic/commercial products.
Good understanding of domestic/commercial product compliance to international standards including EN, IEC, UL/CSA, FCC.
Experience of operating/working in an EMC SAC/FAC chamber.
Experience in internal auditing and management (ie ISO 9001, 17025).
Ability to interpret technical documentation and clearly communicate requirements.
Previous experience within a product compliance/regulatory role.
An understanding of electrical/electronic engineering fundamentals.
