ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working with our engineering teams to deliver world-leading test and measurement systems for customers around the globe, the Senior Electronics Engineer will have a key role in the development of new products and the enhancements of our existing product portfolio. This position will play a vital role in the development of bespoke electronic systems so it is imperative that the Senior Electronics Engineer has an understanding of how electronical design and software interconnect. Based in our offices in Carrickfergus, the Senior Electronics Engineer will be part of the senior management team and will report to the Managing Director.

KEY TASKS

  • Provide electronic system design on new projects and influence product architecture
  • Develop the design of analogue, digital and mixed circuit boards making component recommendations and selections, verifying board functionality
  • Work closely with the engineering teams, assisting with the development of prototypes and production tests
  • Develop, test and implement hardware designs and software/firmware
  • Liaise and communicate with the engineering team, subcontractors, and customers as required
  • Keep up to date with current technology trends, making recommendations to update Yelo technology
  • Develop documentation as required
  • Carry out any other task that may be required from time to time

ABOUT YOU

  • Educated to a degree level in electronics/electrical discipline
  • Have an in-depth understanding of software design/implementation and its application to modern electronic devices and systems
  • At least five years industrial experience
  • Hands on experience of electronic design (minimum of 2 years)
  • Ability to liaise and communicate with external customers in English in a clear and professional manner
  • Hold a valid passport and a full driving license

KEY SKILS

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Be self-motivated, be able to manage time and set priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
