We are currently working alongside an SEN college that is dedicated to empowering students with special needs, providing them with the skills and opportunities to thrive in their personal and professional lives. Their WorkStart program is designed to support post-16 students in developing essential employability skills.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced WorkStart Employability Lecturer to join the team and make a meaningful impact on their students' futures.

Job Description:

As a WorkStart Employability Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical employability lessons to post-16 students with special needs. You will work closely with students, support staff, and employers to create a comprehensive learning experience that prepares students for the workplace. The courses are:

  • Pathway to Employment
  • Preparation for Employment
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a curriculum focused on employability and work related skills
  • Tailor teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students with special needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them to develop confidence and independence.
  • Foster partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create work experience opportunities for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in employability education and special needs support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the WorkStart program.
