Senior Employee Relations Advisor





Purpose of Role

You will work closely with the People and Performance Business Partners, managers and possibly stakeholders to provide insights and proactive interventions to drive the business forward and to ensure that we maintain our high performance culture.



Moreover, you will play a crucial role in shaping our employee capability policies and helping integrate a global mindset into everything we do.





Location: Euston, London



Job Type: Fixed Term Contract



Duration of booking: Expected to last 6 months with possible extension



Proposed start date: ASAP



Pay Rates: £40-£45,000 Per annum.



Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Key Responsibilities




  • Identify and manage any risks within the employee relations remit – see, spot, mitigate, eliminate and escalate where appropriate.

  • Advise, support and educate line managers on all matters relating to employee relations.

  • Effectively manage cases across all divisions of the UK business up to and including ACAS Early Conciliation. Cases will include but are not limited to disciplinary, grievance, performance management, probation, flexible working, short and long term absence.

  • Developing the necessary tools required to effectively promote employee relations.

  • Assist with the design and deliver a training suite for employees at all levels on ER related topics covering, disciplinary, capability, bullying and harassment, discrimination, sickness absence etc, using personal experience to give context to issues, promoting best practice and increasing ER capability across the business.

  • Build relationships with key senior managers across to promote good employee relations across the organisation.

  • Maintain and manage an accurate case log in order to provide data to the business.

  • Assist ER team in managing the HR policy review globally, identifying legal risk or gaps and use your initiative to assist with creating global HR policies that are fit for purpose and scalable.

  • Produce ER data on trends and training gaps.

  • Communicate forthcoming legislative changes in good time for changes to be made / implemented.

  • Work with People Operations to triage and coach on ER cases



Key Skills required





  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience of autonomously and pragmatically managing complex cases.

  • Ability to manage a substantial volume of cases in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience of creating, revising and implementing policies

  • Good knowledge of employment law and keeps up to date with legislative changes and recent case law

  • Experience of collective consultations / redundancy process / new legislation interpretation
