Employment Legal Counsel - EMEA

Job Description Zscaler is looking for a business-oriented employment lawyer to provide advice and counsel to Zscaler's EMEA's People & Culture team and other relevant partners regarding a broad range of local labour and employment issues. Ideally, you can support a variety of issues across Zscaler's Europe, Middle East and Africa ("EMEA") region as long as such support is needed and will report to the head of Employment Legal in San Jose, California. You will support all employment legal matters relevant to the EMEA region and supporting relevant global employment legal team priorities and initiates as driven from headquarters. You will partner with People & Culture and business owners on local programmes and deliver high quality legal advice on a broad range of labour and employment matters in EMEA. Job Responsibilities You will provide legal advice to Zscaler's local People & Culture team on how to comply with local employment laws in the EMEA region. Topics include offer letters, job classifications, compensation, pay equity, benefits, leaves of absence, recruitment, background screening, employee mobility, immigration, performance management, terminations, required trainings, disciplinary actions, and investigations Identify employment legal and compliance gaps and advise and facilitate recommended actions and policy development You will stay up to date with new and developing employment legal laws and regulations and develop a plan and programme for compliance in partnership with P&C You will draft and review employment-related policies, and support P&C teams including Employee Relations, on necessary guidance, policy, and process documents You will manage employment related disputes and litigation, regulatory and government administrative proceedings, including managing outside counsel You will support Employee Relations on employee complaint / hotline investigation matters and other workplace concern investigations Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Law degree and licensed to practise law in the UK (at least) or a common law jurisdiction Post qualification employment law experience gained in private practice and in-house (at least 2 years in-house) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large multinational employers with concentrations of employees across the EMEA region Flexibility and eagerness to work in a scaling organisation Team-oriented mentality, and ability to collaborate with both legal and non-legal colleagues Experience working with senior management on complex issues and applying commercial thought to legal issues to determine risk Negotiation skills; ability to assess risks and convey clear advice to internal clients Additional Information We believe that diversity drives innovation, productivity, and success.
