Our client represents mainly respondents but does carry out some Claimant work. The role involves dealing with employment matters, contentious and non-contentious. The successful candidate will have at least 1 year solid employment law experience, will be driven, professional and proactive, with an engaging and polite telephone manner. The ability to self-develop and learn new skills quickly is essential. Responsibilities You will typically need to: Write letters and emails. organise diaries, schedule meetings and respond to telephone queries respond to client queries provide HR/Employment law advice prepare for ET hearings and comply with ET orders Draft HR documents Draft documents such as contracts, and proofread documents conduct legal research analyse and input legal data write articles for internal or external circulation organise case files, attend court/tribunals, transcribe legal opinion and compile litigation bundles file documents at court networking negotiate contracts and legal documents Draft blogs Accurately recording time recording take witness statements support solicitors attend meetings with clients/prospective clients Qualifications Required Must have at least a 2.1 law degree Must have completed their LPC Must have at least 1-3 years employment law experience Skills/Experience You will need to have: excellent written and verbal communication skills the ability to manage multiple tasks or caseloads good attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse files and data legal research skills and the desire to develop your understanding of the law time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines office administrative skills for tasks such as filing, typing and letter writing good teamwork skills negotiation skills in order to negotiate with clients a flexible and adaptable approach to your work business acumen and an understanding of the clients needs professionalism when working with colleagues, senior partners, experts and clients general IT skills and knowledge of legal database certifications such as LexisNexis, Practical Law or Westlaw.
