Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control & Instrumentation)

This is a permanent position within the Test & Facilities (T&F) Hardware Team, which is responsible for the test and acceptance of electrical/electronic communication & control systems for the Dreadnought submarine build.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical/Electronic installation for Comms and C&I test facilities
  • Design of Test Infrastructure and Hardware
  • Write and produce technical & test documents
  • Execute testing and commissioning of installed systems in a high assurance engineering environment
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support design reviews and attend Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Adhere to conduct and health & safety practices
Job Requirements:


Essential:

  • Degree in a relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience (Electrical/Electronic)
  • Good technical background in complex engineering industries
  • Technical knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Communications Systems (VOIP networks, Broadcast (PA) or trunked radio systems) or Control & Instrumentation (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Fanuc PLCs)


Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), or working towards CEng
  • Experience in Test and Acceptance within a high assurance engineering environment
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, Engineering Life cycle, and quality assurance
