Role Purpose:



Engineering Data Processor/Assemblers (Data Assemblers) work as part of an integrated team that manages engineering information and builds digital twins for the process engineering sector.



Data Assemblers undertake a wide range of activities including data extraction, data entry, data and document review and analysis.



Wherever possible, our client uses it software solutions to assist with the processing and structuring of information for digital twins but there are times when it is necessary to take a more manual approach, especially if large elements of information are missing. Data Assemblers work with other members of the project team to source and enrich the data and document set.



Whereas many Data Assemblers have long service records in the role, many have also developed their careers and taken up roles including Information Management Specialists, Project Managers and IM Consultants.

Key results/Accountabilities/Responsibilities                                           Key Relationships:




  • Data Assemblers need an eye for detail and to be able to focus to ensure accurate and detailed data entry of a wide range of engineering information such as tag registers, document registers, technical data, parts lists, model information

  • Data Assemblers are required to maintain up to date information on the status of the engineering information being processed

  • Data Assemblers are required to review and check of a wide range of engineering data and documents



Key Challenges Faced in the Role:




  • Accurate entry of often complex technical information, some of which may be unfamiliar

  • Maintaining accuracy and consistency on some of the repetitive elements of the role



Any other Relevant Information:




  • Previous experience of working in a technical environment would be an advantage – e.g. Drawing office, maintenance records, technical sales office and purchasing of engineering equipment

  • Microsoft Office Skills are essential

  • Good keyboard skills are essential

  • Good communication skills via e-mail and telephone
