The Role



The Engineering Manager will be supporting the senior management team as and when required.



Principle accountabilities of the role include:




  • Develop a close working relationship with the regional team, ensuring all information is communicated effectively and efficiently. Including developing others working within the engineering section and provide support and coaching where required

  • Assist with Land Appraisals and work with the Land Department to ensure smooth transition of engineering information takes place

  • Assist the Technical Director to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all geotechnical, engineering design and technical report requirements

  • Assist the Commercial team in cost plan completion with regard to engineering matters

  • Provide provisional assessment of abnormal design requirements and review technical information and provide value engineering solutions

  • Complete, approve and formalise the details of all adoption agreements including Section Agreement, Adoption Management and progress of the adoption of roads, sewers, and public open space areas

  • Pursue the reduction and release of outstanding Bonds at the earliest opportunity

  • Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required

  • Work with the Central Design team to develop engineering products and research build systems to ensure we are ready for legislation and market change

  • Understand, implement and adhere to HSS policy and strategy and ensure that all staff reporting to you do the same



Experience, Qualifications and Skills



Experience




  • Experience working as an engineering manager / senior engineer 

  • Experience working in a volume house builder with AutoCAD experience is desirable



Qualifications and Training




  • Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction / Engineering subject with relevant experience

  • CSCS card or equivalent

  • Current full UK driving licence

  • Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.
