My client is a machinery equipment engineering business whose equipment's are installed on a global basis.
The business is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to take responsibility for all Engineering design aspects within the business and to manage and utilise a small team of contract and standards engineers.
Engineering solutions for our customers is at the core of everything we do, so this is significant and exciting role and pivotal to realising our short term and long-term business strategies.
Objectives of the Role

As Engineering manager, you will manage a small team of contract and standards engineers ensuring that:
Machines are designed and engineered to create solutions and functionality for our customers.
Machines are designed utilising our standard range of parts and assemblies.
Department milestones are met through efficient utilisation and focus of staff and continual improvement and utilisation of standard parts.

Customer Focus - To design and engineer solutions and functionality for the market and exceed customer expectations.
Order Fulfilment - To create an efficient order fulfilment process ensuring standards are utilised and project milestones and sold hours are met.
Standardisation – To define and realign standards and standardisation of all products and parts.
Compliance – To ensure regulatory compliance for all our products.
Knowledge Centre - To establish the Engineering department as the central hub and knowledge centre of all products and engineered parts. To manage systems that make this knowledge is consistent and easily available to the wider teams.
Continual Improvement - Manage NCRs, ECRs and CAPAs and embed CI into the department.
Person Spec
BEng or equiv. Mechanical Engineer
Experience of managing an Engineering Team
Experience of machinery compliance (ATEX, EMC, LVD,CE)
Organised - Able to multitask. Manage and deliver multiple improvement projects.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written with the ability to listen, engage and persuade, and to convey conceptual and complex ideas and information.
Creative, practical problem solver.
Engineering Manager Responsibilities: -
Compliance of all parts and assemblies.
Product ownership
Spares and Contract Order Fulfilment.
Auto CAD and The Vault
Quality of Design and Drawings
Standards
Departmental Improvement Projects
Product Costs – Lean Design
Engineering Staff – Development, Training/Coaching
