Due to continued expansion across the business, our client, a market leading FMCG manufacturer is seeking to enhance its team with the appointment of an Engineering Manager to lead this plant within their ever growing group. The ideal candidate will be looking to support the engineering team with training/progression and growing the team skills long term alongside projects, budget control and overall engineering management.

Role Description

• Align the engineering function and production capability with the manufacturing, sales, and distribution strategy.
• Oversee engineering KPIs, including budget, PMs, OEE, MTBF, and breakdowns.
• Responsible for coaching, developing and leading all direct reports and for the successful application of lean manufacturing within the site maintenance team both structurally and culturally
• Improve site services and infrastructure standards whilst maintaining budget control.
• Identification of world class maintenance solutions to resolve various operational and distribution challenges.
• Management of essential replacement & risk plan for 1,3,5 year time horizons.
• Development & control of the site capital plan & cashflow - review process
• Delivery of the site engineering budget and quarterly forecast
• Duty holder for Legionella controls
• Have a people plan ensure succession planning & bridging skills gaps. - apprenticeships etc.
• Use of Continuous Improvement - Yellow belt, 5Why etc.
• Site contact with Utilities suppliers.
• Preparation of engineering schedules and forecasts.
• Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables.
• Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of repairs & maintenance activities.
• Leading client/contractor meetings and resolving client/engineering and management issues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive experience at professional level in either manufacturing or engineering preferred within an FMCG Environment
• Proven capability within engineering sectors including the ability to positively engage at senior level
• Mechanical & Electrical Engineering knowledge
• Experience of working within Projects and Maintenance
• Engineering Management & Manufacturing experience
• Project Management experience
• Experience of recruiting team members and engineering craft
• Either time served Mechanical / Electrical Engineer educated to HND level or hold a recognised Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering - Desirable
• Maintenance & Project Management qualifications by a recognised professional body, e.g. AMIS, APM, APMG or PMI would be an advantage
• Computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), Computer Aided Design (CAD); MS Project; MS Excel
• PLC's & control systems knowledge
• Process pipework and systems knowledge
