Position: Engineering Team Leader
Salary: £55,000 – £57,000
Hours of Work: 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (05:30 to 17:30 / 17:30 to 05:30)
 

We are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Team Leader on behalf of a leading food manufacturing business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills to guide a team of engineers and ensure the smooth operation of production machinery within a fast-paced food

processing environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Reporting to the Engineering Shift Manager and indirectly to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Leading and supporting a team of engineers while working independently when required.
  • Building strong relationships with production management and operators, providing technical advice as necessary.
  • Ensuring all work complies with quality, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
  • Effectively using the PPM system (SAP) to track engineering labour and parts usage.
  • Acting as deputy for the Engineering Shift Manager in their absence, taking charge of team coordination and decision-making.

Candidate Requirements:


  • Time/Skill-Served Fitter with a minimum of 4 years of industrial experience.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • IT literate, particularly with maintenance systems such as SAP.
  • Strong decision-making, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Desirable experience: Working with poultry processing machinery, in the food processing industry, and knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

This role is ideal for a skilled engineering leader or Multi Skilled Engineer with experience in a food manufacturing environment.
