Blue Arrow are currently recruiting a Shift Engineering Team Leader to work for an established, growing business in the Thornton and Leyland area.

Location Thornton - Post code FY7
Working hours: Average 37.8 hours per week, 12 hour shifts, 5 shift system, 24/7
6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am - 2 days, 2 nights 4 off on 7 cycles followed by an 18 day break.
Roles and responsibilities:
Technical Duties
- Oversee tasks and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain and operate equipment according to standards.
Monitoring and Reporting Support
- Facilitate meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
- Record, analyse, and report on activities.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Lead safety initiatives and promote safety awareness.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and conduct inspections.
- Investigate and report accidents, implementing corrective actions.
Operational Support
- Facilitate communication between team members and departments.
- Collaborate with various departments for efficient operations.
- Communicate shift status for seamless transitions.
Leadership Duties
- Allocate resources for safe and efficient operations.
- Plan, allocate, and follow up on activities.
- Lead during emergency situations.
People Management
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members.
Required Skills / Qualifications Required:
- ONC/HNC Mechanical or Electrical qualification or equivalent experience with supporting qualifications
- Experience in leading a team and coaching team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively
- Ability to identify issues, analyse root causes, and implement solutions
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of the Waste processing industry
- Detailed knowledge of waste processing plant, machinery and associated systems or FMCG Chemical and industrial industries.
- Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH)
- Knowledge of working with CMMS software applications
