Our esteemed client, a high-achieving secondary school in the vibrant coastal city of Brighton, is actively seeking a dynamic and accomplished English Teacher to join their thriving department. The Ideal Candidate:




  • Possesses a deep passion for English language and literature, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

  • Demonstrates exceptional subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise, coupled with a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Is an effective communicator and collaborator, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.

  • Embraces innovative teaching methodologies and assessment strategies to ensure student progress and engagement.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Design and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the National Curriculum and school's educational philosophy.

  • Assess student work and provide timely and constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.

  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and professional learning communities.

  • Contribute to the broader school community by participating in extracurricular activities and events.



Qualifications and Experience:




  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.

  • Proven track record of success in teaching English at the secondary level.

  • A strong command of grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.

  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
