As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic journey of your students, helping them develop essential language and communication skills that will serve them throughout their lives. As an English Teacher, your role will include:


  • Delivering engaging and thought-provoking English lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and a love of literature.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that meet the needs of all students, including differentiation for varying abilities.
  • Assessing and monitoring students’ progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to help them develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Creating a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that fosters active student participation and encourages confidence in their English abilities.
  • Collaborating with fellow staff members to promote a cohesive approach to learning and support students' academic development across the curriculum.
  • Engaging students in extracurricular activities that enhance their learning experience, such as writing clubs or drama productions.
  • Supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs to ensure they can access the English curriculum and achieve their potential.


To be considered for the English Teacher role, you must:


  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification (such as QTLS or PGCE). Overseas-trained teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Have a degree in English or a related field.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 is preferred, though NQT applications are welcome.
  • A passion for fostering students' love of English and inspiring them to succeed.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students and encourage participation.
  • A proactive, adaptable teaching style with a focus on creating an inclusive learning environment.
