English Teacher - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire (Outstanding Secondary School)
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Start Date: ASAP or Easter
Salary: MPS/UPS (M1 to UPS3) + potential for TLR
Contract: Full-time, with the possibility of a permanent role

Role Overview
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join an outstanding secondary school in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will play a key role in fostering a love for literature and language while supporting students in achieving their full academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Deliver English lessons at KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of teaching at KS5 for experienced candidates.
  • Lesson Planning: Plan and deliver dynamic, engaging, and creative lessons that inspire a love for English and encourage critical thinking.
  • Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed feedback to help them develop their skills and prepare for exams.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the English Department to enhance the curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching practices and diverse texts.
  • School Engagement: Participate in department meetings, school initiatives, and contribute to fostering a supportive and inclusive school culture.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in English or a related field and have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4. While experience at KS5 is desirable, it is not essential. We are looking for someone who is passionate about English, skilled at inspiring students, and committed to their academic success.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: QTS or equivalent, with a degree in English or a closely related subject.
  • Experience: Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience preferred but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
