The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in Application Architecture, Systems Design, and Software Development. They will demonstrate a lucid comprehension of the criticality of robust application structures in ensuring streamlined business operations, along with the potential to drive revenue growth through optimised application performance, enhanced user experiences, and the swift deployment of new functionalities.As an integral part of our Enterprise Architecture team, the Enterprise Application Architect will lead the development of an application strategy that aligns with our company's architectural principles and business objectives. This strategic role requires a technology leader who is not only adept at navigating complex business and technical landscapes but also skilled in establishing and maintaining robust governance frameworks to ensure seamless, secure, and efficient enterprise systems and applications.Responsibilities as the Enterprise Application Architect:Formulate and manage an Enterprise Application Strategy that aligns with business objectivesConduct meticulous analysis of business processes, requirements, and scenarios to craft high-calibre application designs. Collaborate with senior stakeholders, third-party partners, and standards organisations to secure approval for the final designsAdapt and customise industry-standard application frameworks to produce and sustain application models tailored to the specific business domainDefine, document, and map the application value chain across the enterpriseAnalyse business processes to identify and document key application touch points and dependencies through comprehensive end-to-end business process flowsCollaborate closely with internal and external development teams and technical architects to steer application architecture design, API contract design, and application deployment strategiesAnalyse existing system behaviours, application architectures, and business process implementations to facilitate seamless integration into existing systems and to drive innovative application designDesign application structures and workflows to facilitate intuitive user experiences, real-time insights, and swift deployment of enhancements, both for internal and external stakeholdersEngage with external standards bodies to shape and maintain global application standardsBased on meticulous business process analysis, comprehend and document lifecycles of key application components and stipulate non-functional requirements for application consistency, availability, performance, and securityCollaborate with Security Architects to define and concur on application security protocols and regulatory compliance measuresSet up and manage an application governance framework for the transformation program, working closely with the existing architecture team to ensure seamless integration into business-as-usual operationSkills and Experience as an Enterprise Application Architect:Demonstrated experience in formulating high-quality solution designs and securing approval for such designs in complex stakeholder environmentsProficiency in managing stakeholders, including senior management, third-party collaborators, and standards organisationsExpertise in working with industry-standard application frameworks and adapting them to fulfill specific business requirementsFamiliarity with the insurance business domain and expertise in application architecture aligned with insurance industry practices, especially in commercial insuranceComprehensive knowledge across diverse technical domains, encompassing microservice architectures, system design, software development, and legacy systemsAdeptness in mapping logical application structures to physical implementations, particularly in large-scale transformation projects transitioning from intricate legacy systems to contemporary digital applicationsAbility to devise transition plans and roadmaps for application migration, encompassing both bulk and gradual migration strategiesProficiency in designing application patterns, managing patterns for an organisation and identifying opportunities for re-useCompetence in designing and implementing application security policies and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirementsSkill in designing and implementing governance processes for application managementExperience collaborating with external standards organisationsFamiliarity with the TOGAF frameworkWhat we can do for you:Competitive compensationPension scheme DXC Select – (benefits package)Perks at WorkDXC incentivesInvestment In Training and Development We offer a comprehensive range of training and career development opportunities, a structured induction programme, tailored job training as well as mentoring and support for relevant sponsored professional qualifications.
