Job Description
Entra Identity Engineer
Urgent! One of my leading clients based in Sussex, England is looking for an experienced Entra Identity Engineer for a long freelance project based 5 days per week on site.

Minimum Experience:
4+ years in Entra ID engineering
NB: Inside IR35!
Responsibilities and Duties:
Design, implement, and maintain hybrid on-premise and cloud Active Directory environments, including Azure Active Directory/Entra ID.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to integrate systems and applications with centralized authentication services like Active Directory or Azure Active Directory/Entra ID.
Provide expertise in Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, and Active Directory synchronization.
Support and maintain Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) environments and Entra ID Enterprise Applications.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID environments, and Ping Federate.
Implement security baselines and recommend best practices for centralized authentication platforms.
Conduct regular health checks and proactively address issues to prevent production system impacts.
Possess comprehensive knowledge and experience with authentication standards and multi-factor authentication technologies.
Monitor performance and capacity baselines of authentication platforms, recommending and implementing improvements.
Lead the response and resolution of complex, high-severity incidents.
Regularly review deployed infrastructure, develop detailed architecture, and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Analyze existing authentication services platforms for technical and operational enhancement opportunities, developing continuous improvement plans.
Automate manual processes and introduce new automation to enhance security and efficiency using scripts, pipelines, etc.
Research innovations in IT security and IAM technologies to ensure the client maintains best practices and standards.
Provide on-call support as needed for the continuity of identity platforms.
Support audit requests and remediation activities.
Key Skills Required:
Proven experience as a Senior Active Directory/Entra ID Engineer or similar role with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, LDAP, ADFS, and other centralized identity stores.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and familiarity with IAM permissions on Management Groups, subscriptions, and resources.
Expertise in Azure Active Directory/Entra ID capabilities like Conditional Access Policies, Privileged Identity Manager, and Application Registrations.
In-depth knowledge of Active Directory attributes, LDAP Queries, PowerShell Scripting, ADFS, Group Policy Object (GPO) analysis, configuration, item-level targeting, active directory replication, backup and restore, and certificate installation.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory/Azure Active Directory/Entra ID services.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting with experience in automation, including utilizing APIs such as Microsoft Graph.
Solid understanding of Single Sign-On and authentication protocols such as SAML & OIDC.
Expert knowledge of security best practices for Active Directory and Azure Active Directory/Entra ID.
Expertise with directory synchronization tools like Azure Active Directory/Entra ID Connect and Active Directory integration.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling multiple high-priority demands while driving consistent results.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Proficiency with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, PowerShell, or Perl), LDAP, SQL, and web services.
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and experience working within such frameworks.
Customer-focused mindset to ensure solutions meet the needs of various operating companies within the group.
Strong analytical skills for complex systems and workflows.
Certification:
Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
Other Requirements:
Candidate must be prepared to work rotational shifts for 24/7/365 coverage support.
