Since 2019, the company has also expanded its services to the Moon and beyond – providing lunar and deep-space communications links to spacecraft operated by international agencies and private enterprises.We are seeking a qualified, pro-active HSE Manager to ensure that all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety on site are adhered to. In addition, the role will also establish, manage, and monitor environmental policies across the company.The OpportunityThis role will suit a practical employee who will also need to be flexible in assisting the wide range of challenges our engineers and estates team encounter. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Ensuring that all H&S, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated in line with statutory requirements.Advising and supporting engineering staff and others in the completion and regular review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all work activities and equipment.Ensuring that regular safety inspections are conducted and correctly reported, including fire drills, fire alarms and fire-fighting equipment, mechanical aids, vehicles, and PPE.Establishing a programme of documented H&S, Environmental and Quality inspections, audits, and checks.Establish a structured programme of in-house and external H&S, Environmental and Quality training throughout the Company.Assisting the Estates and Engineering teams with grounds and maintenance work as required.Consult with suppliers i.e. Engineering Contractors, Insurers, solicitors on HS&E.Conduct pre-start safety reviews with contractors, visitors and others conducting work on site.Provide HSEQ related contributions to proposals in response to RFPs.Key skills that will help you in this roleAt least 3 years recent and relevant experience and advanced knowledge of relevant industry practices and regulatory requirements.NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified.In particular, a working knowledge of safety requirements relating to; Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), Working at Height, Electricity at Work, and COSHHSite Management Safety TrainedHandling of H&S investigations and interviews.Experience of formulating, implementing, and revising H&S policies and procedures.Work flexibly and co-operatively with others to complete tasks, implement change and influence behaviours.A flexible approach to contributing to other duties as required.Desirable:A bachelor’s degree in safety, Engineering, or related technical engineering fieldMember of institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)Experience of quality systems and working to ISO standardsOHSAS 18001, Occupational Health, and Safety Assessment SeriesKnowledge of ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management SystemsKnowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System StandardsExperience in waste management.A working knowledge of safety requirements relating to non-ionising radiation.What you can expect from usCompetitive SalaryHoliday - 25 days plus bank holidaysLife AssurancePrivate Medical coverPrivate Dental CoverCompany Pension SchemeEnhanced Maternity & Paternity CoverWe are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to ensuring that our workplace and employment practices are free from discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on the grounds of race, gender, married or civil partner status, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, trans status, disability, religion or belief, and age.
