Apera Asset Management (“Apera”) is a leading pan-European mid-market private debt investor with > €2.9bn of AUM with offices in London, Munich, Paris and Luxembourg. Apera’s Private Debt strategy focuses on senior secured financings in the UK, Ireland, German-speaking Europe (DACH), the Nordic region, France and Benelux. Job descriptionWe are seeking to hire an ESG manager to lead Apera’s ESG engagement with portfolio companies, regulators and investors and to develop and enhance ESG strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ESG trends, regulatory frameworks, and best practices within the private capital industry. The Manager will lead ESG at Apera with support from the ESG committee team.Main responsibilities:Develop and enhance existing ESG policies, frameworks, and strategies aligned with our investment goals and regulatory requirements.Engage with portfolio companies to promote and monitor ESG performance, providing guidance and support for improvementCollaborate with investment teams to integrate ESG factors into decision-making processes.Prepare annual ESG reports and ad-hoc presentations for investors.Stay abreast of evolving ESG regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.Enhance ESG awareness and commitment within Apera.Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in ESG management (preferably within the private debt, private equity, or broader financial services industry) or consulting.Strong understanding of ESG frameworks (e.g. UN PRI, SFDR, TCFD) and other regulatory requirements in Western Europe.Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Fluency in English; additional French / German speaking abilities are a plus.Benefits:Axa Private healthcare (covering services such as GPs, physio, dental and optical)Insurance cover (life assurance, travel, income protection and critical illness cover).30 days annual leave.Gympass reimbursement (unlimited access to gyms, studios, classes, and training including Barry’s Bootcamp, Soul Cycle and Fitness First).
