Freelance Estimator - Highways & Infrastructure

Are you an experienced Estimator with a strong background in Highways & Infrastructure tendering? If so, we are looking for a skilled professional to join our esteemed client on a freelance basis. This role is based in South Mimms and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure projects.

Location: South Mimms
Contract Length: 6 months
Start Date: ASAPHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (minimum of 3 days in the office). Start between 8am-9am, finish by 5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

·Manage all aspects of estimating for highways construction projects.
·Prepare cost estimates and budgets for earthworks and drainage.
·Conduct risk analysis and value engineering.
·Oversee tendering processes and contract administration for motorway and highways projects.
·Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
·Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

·Proven experience in estimating for highways, earthworks, and drainage projects.
·Strong understanding of construction and maintenance processes.
·Experience preparing estimates from detailed construction information to feasibility study level.
·Proficiency in Candy estimating software and Microsoft Office.
·Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
·Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
·Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
·Hard-working and proactive, enjoying hands-on involvement in projects.
