The Role: As an Estimator, you will be a key player in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects, primarily focused on healthcare and educational facilities. This position is based in Maidstone and offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will significantly contribute to the success of impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid submissions for healthcare and education projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to produce accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project costs and timelines.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about pricing trends and costs in the industry.
- Review and assess subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and presentations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with a focus on healthcare and education projects an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
