Are you looking for a role 100% working from home?Our client is a market-leading Food Manufacturing Group currently looking to recruit a European Raw Material Technologist.The role:To ensure the accurate creation and maintenance of all material & packaging specifications for the European group.To maintain the supplier risk assessments for raw materials, packaging and services by requesting and encompassing supplier compliance documentation into the Group Quality Management system.Liaise directly with the group's external suppliers to ensure all queries are closed out during the onboarding and specification maintenance reviews.Participate & support all internal and external audits/gap analysis, presenting information as requested & ensuring the departmental processes are in place and adhered to in compliance with the requirements.To provide support to Group and Site based Technical Teams by providing information and resolutions for troubleshooting investigations to ensure root causes are identified and sustainable preventative actions are implemented to remove the risk of reoccurrence.To support the group innovation pipeline from a material and packaging perspective, attending the required internal meetings and ensuring the Supplier Assurance tasks are completed in line with the critical paths, raising risks against the project where necessary.Main Responsibilities:Update and maintain accurate records using the appropriate business systems, applications, and databases ensuring quality assurance and technical admin systems are always audit-ready.Ensure that any specification/supplier compliance amendments as advised by the supply base are effectively communicated within the European Technical Team to enable a satisfactory assessment of the European Quality Management system changes.Supporting all European Sites with Technical Administrative requests and queries, providing advice on technological and regulatory developments in all aspects of food safety.Develop and maintain the internal testing regime of all raw materials used throughout the group. Be a custodian of the schedule and risk assessment, ensuring testing is completed on time and that any deviation is thoroughly communicated and investigated.To support the European Regulatory Team with raw material and packaging specifications information provision for finished product artwork and specification builds.Participating in the procurement on-boarding process of new suppliers, materials, packaging items and services by screening supplier technical specification submissions and ensuring appropriately detailed specifications / technical contracts are in place along with the supporting supplier documentation.Ensuring the availability of raw material and packaging specifications to the Intake Teams / Technical teams across the European sites.Support the Supplier Review Process as led by the Supplier Assurance Manager, ensuring all risks and opportunities for improvement within the supplier base are captured within the appropriate area of the European Quality Management System to enable proactive close-out and accurate supplier performance reviews.Ensure all raw, pack and service documentation comply with the company, customer, legal & 3rd party certification regarding food safety, quality, authenticity and legality.Support the supplier assurance audit system, attending audits/visits within the supplier base, and contributing to the output reports.Be an active member of the New Product Development project teams, supporting the procurement of new raw and pack items, creating accurate bills of materials and attending the team meetings.Undertake any other duties as required, including the support of other departments within the European Technical Team.Candidate:In-depth knowledge of the BRC (knowledge of other GFSI and non-GFSI certifications is also seen as an advantage).In depth knowledge of EU and UK Food Law.In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, policies and procedures in connection with raw, pack & service supplier specification management.Good organisational and methodical skills with an excellent eye for detail.Ability to prioritise tasks. You must have Food Manufacturing industry technical department experience; chilled foods experience is desirable.Ideally, you will have BRC knowledge coupled with a Degree level qualification in a Food or Science related subject.This is an opportunity to join a well-established and successful business!Salary of £30-35,000100% Working from HomeMon-Fri Office Hours, 37.5 Hours per week29 Days Holidays, including statsIf this interests you, please apply today, and I will call you with more information!
