Job Description
Job Title : Field Service Engineer - Explosion Protection
Job Purpose
Working directly for a worldwide manufacturer within the fire industry Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on explosion suppression & isolation systems at customer locations as required.

Principal Responsibilities
Work Location : Home-based role with work on varied industrial sites predominantly around the UK and Ireland.
Maintenance & Repairs : Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on installed systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Technical Support : Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and offering timely solutions. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Customer Relationships : Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and acting as a reliable service engineer.
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of service visits, technical issues, resolutions, and customer interactions.
Travel : Travel to customer sites as required, often on short notice, to perform maintenance and repairs. Flexibility in travel schedule is essential.

Emergency Cover : Ability to work emergency cover at short notice and be on an emergency call rota.
Professionalism : Professional demeanour and appearance. Calm, diplomatic personality; sometimes there is pressure to get equipment working quickly.
Communication Skills : Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Organisation : High degree of personal organisation, requirement to maintain own diary, vehicle, tools, and stock.
Autonomy : Able to work professionally without supervision.
Physical Fitness : Physically fit, can be a physically demanding role. Able to work at heights.
Assistance : Assist in other pan-European regions as required.
Essential Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills
HNC (or equivalent) qualification in a suitable engineering discipline.
Proficient in using Windows, Gmail, Word, Excel.
Multi-skilled background – electrical, mechanical, controls & instrumentation.
Valid driving licence – preferably clean.
Proven track record of field maintenance experience – preferably in the industrial sector.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
CompEx trained.
Knowledge/experience
of ATEX environments.
C&G 2330 (or 2365) parts 2 & 3.
Ability to use Salesforce.
IPAF Certificate.
Health & Safety qualification.
