Job Title: Extrusion Operator - Blown Film
Location: Corby
Salary: £14-£16 per hour, dependant on experience
Hours: 4 on / 4 off shift (Apply online only), rotating days / nights
Our client in Corby is looking for an Extrusion Operator to work within their print-based environment. The main purpose of the role is to produce polyethylene film to meet customer specifications in colour, gauge and material using a variety of different extrusion machines and to product film printed on the roll for conversion into carrier bags.
Some of the main responsibilities would be:
- Producing work that is accurate
- Able to set up dies, extrusion machines and other equipment (training provided)
- Observe machine operation to detect any defects
- Move finished product to racking (some heavy lifting involved)
- Carry scrap to designated recycling zone
- Fill hopper and perform minor machine maintenance
- Ensure all paperwork is filled in accurately
- Reporting maintenance issues promptly
- Ensure that all bins are filled and reels banded correctly before the end of shift
There are other tasks involved but this outlines the main responsibilities. You will be able to use a tape measure and micrometer accurately and be able to understand basic maths / English as there will be written instructions to follow. Basic computer literacy is also required
