Job Title: Nursery Teacher for SEN (Special Educational Needs)

Location: Romford

Contract Type: Full Time, Long Term

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £700-£1200 per week

Role Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children with diverse needs and a passion for making a positive impact on their lives. As a Nursery Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, collaborate with staff, and create an inclusive environment that supports each child's unique development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Create and implement fun and educational lesson plans tailored to the needs of each child.

  • Support Development: Assist children in developing their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.

  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other teachers to ensure the best outcomes for children.

  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Individualised Support: Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with special needs.

  • Communication: Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the children's care.

  • Inclusive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and respected.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent early years teaching qualification

  • Experience working with young children with special educational needs

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team

  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton)

  • Knowledge of sensory integration techniques and interventions

  • Ability to use play-based and creative approaches to support learning
