TEXO Recruitment�are looking to recruit an experienced Fabrication Estimator on behalf of an external client, who are located in Lerwick, Shetlands, on a permanent basis.
As a Fabrication Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of fabrication projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability. You will work closely with the fabrication team, clients, and suppliers to gather necessary information and develop detailed cost estimates. This role is based in Lerwick, Shetlands, and offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing flexibility between on-site presence and remote work.
Area(s) of Responsibility:




  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.

  • Proposal Development: Develop comprehensive and competitive proposals for clients, including detailed scope of work, timelines, and cost breakdowns.

  • Client Communication: Engage with clients to understand project requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns or queries.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the fabrication team, project managers, and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on material costs, labour rates, and industry trends to ensure competitive pricing.

  • Documentation: Maintain thorough records of all estimates, proposals, and relevant documentation for future reference and analysis.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.





Qualifications
Education: A relevant degree or equivalent experience in fabrication, engineering management, or a related field.




  • Experience: Proven experience as an estimator in the fabrication or manufacturing industry.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in estimation software and tools.

    • Solid understanding of fabrication processes and materials.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.
