Fabrication Operative

We are looking to employ an experienced Fabricating Operative to work in a busy environment in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne.

As an operative, you will be assisting with the manufacture of Plastic curtains in the automatic doors, and security roller shutters, fire roller shutters and sectional doors industry.

The role

* The role will be assisting the fabricators in an engineering environment

* You will be responsible for using various machines, tools and techniques to weld, fabricate, and assemble plastic and metal components.

* You will be working with a fast door curtain cutting and welding machine.

* Lifting and loading parts

* Be able to follow drawings

* Be able to measure and cut parts accurately to avoid waste.

* Work independently upon training on the machine and how to measure and cut the curtains.

Applicants will need to

* Have previous similar experience

* Ability to work to drawings and follow job sheets

* Understanding of technical documents and drawings

* General fabrication knowledge and experience

* Experience of operating machinery

* Must be able to work off own initiative with little supervision and as part of a team.

* Knowledge of hand tools and plastics to fabricate units following a job sheet.

* Inspecting materials and parts to ensure high standards maintained

* Reading engineering drawings to design fabrication solutions for various customers

* Previous experience as a Plastic Welding.

* Minimum Grade C or above in Maths & English.

* Be detail-orientated with a methodical approach to working

* Understanding of technical documents and drawings

* Manual skills and a steady hand

* A good level of fitness and resilience

* Knowledge of basic safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing

This role will become permanent for the right appliocant aftert a probation period
