Our client is a leader in their field and due to continued growth are now looking for an experienced Fabrication Production Supervisor who will be self-motivated and results-driven to direct, assist management of business operational activities. Reporting to the Technical Director your duties will include overseeing routine production tasks, troubleshooting and solving issues that arise on the production floor and keeping a safe and clean production workspace.



The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own and in a team in the given boundaries providing management, leadership, and motivation to their team and peers, whilst having excellent knowledge and experience in MIG welding



Duites and Responsibilities




  • Confirming targets to production team members and evaluating their performance including: Mentoring and coaching employees. Health and safety practices, Absenteeism Management (RTW)

  • Ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and correctly by managing productive time of all team members

  • Checking that skill set groups stagger holidays to maintain dept effectiveness and allows planned production commitment.

  • Work with Production Planning to ensure agreed production plans are adhered to.

  • Maintain skills matrices for full team capabilities with a training plan to facilitate multi skilling where possible.

  • Ensuring product and service quality is in line with the company quality policy and expectations.

  • Accurately completing all necessary documentation for compliance

  • Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe use of equipment

  • Managing the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment



Skills and Experience




  • Experienced in MIG Welding, heavy plate up to 15 mm multi position

  • Experience of working in a HGV industry, with heavy weight fabrication and heavy plates up to 15mm advantageous

  • Has knowledge of production planning in a manufacturing industry.

  • Experience of managing and motivation a team and working with HR to resolve any people issues
