Summary of the Facilities Maintenance Officer role
As the Facilities Maintenance Officer you will report directly to the Facilities Manager. You will be based at our Deeside facility in North Wales and work Monday-Friday 35 hours per week.
As the Facilities Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for facilities vendor management and maintenance scheduling with an emphasis on the administration of the current maintenance scheduling system and any upgrades to the system as they are introduced.
This is an administrative based facilities maintenance role but candidates with an engineering background with an electrical bias would be highly desirable.

Your responsibilities


  • Preparing permit to work (PTW) - collation of vendor insurances, risk assessments and methods statements.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating service and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Acting as point of contact for visiting vendors, performing site inductions and completing permits to work following current site EHS guidelines.
  • Costing, quoting and negotiating with vendors and subsequent purchase requisition preparation.
  • Monitoring the department budget with regards to contract, maintenance and utilities spending.
  • First line supervision for cleaning staff whether contracted or vendor supplied.
  • Maintaining and calibrating work order preparation and making amendments as required to the works scheduler and tracking software.
  • Producing and amending maintenance tasks, SOPs and associated supporting documentation in compliance with the current GMP Quality system.
  • Being an active member of the work safety committee providing and implementing safety actions.
  • Maintaining equipment history with the use of equipment files for the recording of any maintenance, calibrations and supplier documentation.
  • Preparing monthly KPIs and delegate when required on behalf of the Engineering and Facilities Department at Quality review meetings.
  • Deputising for the Facilities/Engineering Manager as required for purchasing and document approvals.

Requirements for the role

  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry in a similar role is essential.
  • Previous engineering experience with an electrical bias would be highly desirable.
  • Previous GMP experience would be desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), Excel and Word would be advantageous.
