Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on experience

We have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join VetPartners based at our Central Support Office in York with some occasional travel to practice sites as required.

The purpose of the role is to act as Facilities Manager for the Central Support office, and to advise and assist VetPartners practices with building and maintenance issues whilst also focusing on compliance delivery across the network.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

Ensuring the Central Support offices are maintained and statutory compliant at all times
Act as point of contact for visiting contractors, supervising contractors ensuring safe working practices
Carry out regular site checks and fabric inspections and acting on results found
Assist VetPartners practices with statutory compliance and maintenance issues as required
Collect and manage data required for statutory reporting on compliance
Advise Practice Managers on health and safety and contractor management
Lead on asbestos management across the estate
Work alongside the Health and Safety Team, advising and assisting on issues raised and ensuring all required actions are followed through
Occasional travel to sites where required to assess issues raised
Contract management – ensure service providers uphold contractual obligation
From time to time may be required to deliver or support delivery of small projects within the VetPartners estate

About you:

We are looking for someone who can communicate effectively at all levels within a large organisation and with service providers. You will need sound problem solving skills, attention to detail and be able to manage and prioritise multiple time sensitive projects effectively within a very fast paced, changing environment. You will be proficient with MS packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
As a keen collaborator who is passionate about the delivery of a quality service you will be able to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills, qualifications and experience:

Building/Trade based qualification
IOSH/NEBOSH an advantage
CDM/SMSTS
Up to date knowledge of facilities compliance standards
Demonstrable experience in facilities role
Knowledge of property construction methods, building fabric, and mechanical and electrical services.
Proven experience in additional works management
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Word and Excel
Experienced at managing property facilities and functions
Experience in project management
Good commercial knowledge and property management legislation
A sound understanding of H&S procedures across all aspects of building management

37.5 hours per week
