About Us:
Randstad is partnering with the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) Team in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated and experienced Social Worker.
This unique role focuses on working with families affected by substance misuse, offering a problem-solving approach to help parents address their challenges and create a safer environment for their children.

Job Description:
As an FDAC Social Worker, you will support families involved in court proceedings due to substance misuse issues. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, including legal professionals and healthcare providers, to deliver tailored interventions aimed at supporting recovery, keeping families together, and safeguarding children.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of families undergoing FDAC court proceedings, conducting assessments and developing tailored care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with parents to address substance misuse and other challenges affecting their ability to care for their children.
  • Coordinate with health professionals, addiction specialists, and other agencies to provide comprehensive support to families.
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being remain the top priority throughout the FDAC process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records, complying with legal and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in family support, child protection, or substance misuse services.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, court processes, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and manage a challenging caseload.
  • Experience in providing expert witness testimony in court is desirable.
