At The Edmund Trust we are a charity that supports people with learning disabilities across Cambridgeshire.
As a support worker within our Community Service you will be supporting a happy and euthanistic man who enjoys football, playing x box and Harry Potter.
Job Overview
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in aiding and supporting him, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This position requires a commitment to fostering independence and dignity to the people we support.
Duties
Assistance with daily living activities, including personal care with the use of a hoist and slide sheet, meal preparation, and household tasks.
Administrating medication and the usage of PEG feed
Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting social interaction and engagement.
Maintain accurate records and report any changes in their condition to the appropriate professionals.
Collaborate and communicate with healthcare providers, family members, and other support staff
Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and protocols.
Experience
Previous experience in a support or care role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Full flexibility across the week. Shifts available are 08.00-20.00 with occasional Sleep in shift.
Full & Part time positions available
Full UK driver license is required
