Field Service Engineer - Waste Machinery

�15.00 - �17.00 (basic 45 hours per week before overtime)

National/Northwest Based

Alecto Recruitment is looking to speak to Engineers with experience in the waste management/recycling or materials handling industries who would be interested in working as a Field Service Engineer for a leading manufacturer in the waste handling machinery sector.

Working on a national basis, you will provide engineering services to customers on a reactive basis and carry out repair and servicing of waste handling machinery.

Our client would prefer for Engineers to be based in the northern or northwest regions particularly due to the quantity of work in this location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service and repair waste handling machinery and equipment at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on-site.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and customer support teams to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including reports, checklists, and customer communications.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during service operations.
  • Travel to customer sites as required, with potential for occasional overnight stays.

Requirements:

  • Ideally based in the North West or Yorkshire regions.
  • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in field service, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery, preferably in the waste management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
