Job Title: Field Service Engineer


Location: Mobile – Main site Broad Oak, Portsmouth, we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.


Salary: Up to £40,000 dependent on experience



What you’ll be doing:



  • Deliver engineering field support for the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet in the UK and overseas

  • Be prepared to travel to internal and external customer sites, in the UK and overseas, and work independently and as part of the Submarine Support mobile Field Engineering team

  • Possess multi-discipline knowledge and experience in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering

  • Adhere with legislation and company policy

  • Raise risk assessments and method statements to cover work

  • Generate technical reports detailing output of activities undertaken

  • Support the wider Field Operations Team as required


Your skills and experiences:



  • Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) level qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

  • Broad Engineering knowledge

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety processes

  • Experience of fault-finding, repair and commissioning of complex mechanical and electronic systems

  • Knowledge of Field Services environment is desirable

The Field Service team:


As a Submarine Support Field Services Engineer, you will be part of a small, dedicated, specialist engineering team providing field support to the Royal Navy’s subsurface fleet. The project base is at our Broad Oak site in Portsmouth. The role is a mobile position requiring extensive travel within the UK and International locations, often at short notice. The role entails deployments to Royal Navy platforms and subsequent report generation, as well as attending learning opportunities and providing test and calibration support at our Portsmouth facility.
