Field Service Technician (Commercial Vehicles) - Home Based

Spitfire Staffing is currently recruiting on behalf of one of our well established and successful clients. 



Due to further success and an upturn in business, they are looking for reliable and hard-working candidates to join the team.



The Role:




  • Field Service support for the company - Commercial Vehicles Division, Electric Drive bus transmission systems 

  • Carry out diagnostics and repairs at customer sites, 3rd party premises and operator vessels

  • Carry out major unit exchanges at above locations

  • Undertake new product support tasks as directed

  • Support sales teams in CV department to increase product awareness, share field service opportunities and drive growth

  • Provide technical support and advice to sales colleagues where appropriate

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives

  • Liaise with Health & Safety, management and projects teams on any issues arising in the day-to-day business

  • Work with customers to minimise downtime of assets

  • Adhere to all H&S and Environmental guidelines

  • Complete all paperwork once assignment is finished, and submit as soon as practical

  • Complete engineering reports in a timely manner

  • Monitor and control stock levels within individual depots

  • Use reporting procedures to feedback quality related issues noted during the work assignment



Hours & Pay:




  • Home based 

  • Covering: Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, 

  • £50,000 to £60,000

  • 0830 to 1630 

  • Mon to Fri 

  • Company vehicle 



Requirements: 




  • Completed engineering apprenticeship as minimum, level 5 qualification or higher preferred

  • Mechatronics or multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias

  • Background in field services and engineering

  • Experience with electric vehicles

  • Working knowledge of variable speed electric drives and control systems

  • Experience with high voltage vehicle systems 

  • Excellent diagnostic capabilities

  • Good IT skills

  • Full UK driving licence
