Finance Assistant

You will be involved in the accounting for several trading companies, required as a result of the growth in the Group of companies. The role-holder will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting, including, but not limited to, sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, and nominal ledger.

Description

The role-holder will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting functions and therefore have a broad range of tasks and responsibilities which will be varied. The main duties will be:

• Raising of invoices to customers
• Processing of supplier invoices, both purchase ledger and sub-contractors
• Creation of weekly and monthly supplier payment reports
• Recording of data for inclusion in monthly payroll, and providing cover for payroll processing
• Maintenance of fixed asset registers and posting depreciation
• Assistance with internal reporting as required

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

• Previous experience of working in an accounts department
  
• Ability to work in a pro-active manner, with the flexibility to switch between tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Calm personality: able to deal with deadlines and adapt to the needs of the role as may be required
• Ability to work as part of a team and deal with colleagues and external contacts in a courteous and professional manner
• Good Microsoft office skills, in particular excel and word
• Knowledge of CIS tax and reverse VAT charge an advantage
