Our client is a leading provider of digitally-led consultancy services working predominantly with central government and the wider public sector. With a primary focus on change and transformation, they are a multi-disciplinary team of digital strategy, design, technology and delivery specialists using digital to improve public services. Role Reporting to the CEO and acting as a key member of the SLT, the Finance Director will have overall responsibility for finance, as well as some broader operational responsibilities including HR and Commercial Operations. Responsible for ensuring effective strategic financial planning, the incoming FD will also need to be hands-on, producing management accounts and performance information packs whilst also managing a small finance team. This is an executive Board role, participating in the organisation s leadership with a particular focus on the financial aspects of future decision making and strategy. Responsibilities Providing clear and timely finance and business reporting to support the Executive management team and the Board Robust analysis and management of key operating parameters; project profitability, committed income, sales pipeline and overheads Ensure appropriate systems are established and maintained for accurate transaction recording Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including HMRC for VAT and payroll taxes, Companies House filings and production of annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP Overseeing HR Leading Commercial Operations, covering all aspects of contract negotiations Profile Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Previous experience as a Finance Director in an SME environment where the capacity to think both strategically and deliver operationally has been important Familiarity with Agency/ Professional Services businesses where there has been a focus on WIP accounting and time/materials billing Excellent interpersonal skills, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues across the wider organisation including Board members An ability to work at pace We know that diverse recruitment practices start with us.
