Hamilton Woods is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing SME construction business to appoint a Finance Director. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Managing Director and senior team to drive financial strategy, operational efficiency, and business growth.

\n

This is a hands-on role, ideal for a qualified senior finance professional with experience in the construction sector, who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.

\nKey Responsibilities:\n

• Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to shape and deliver the company's financial strategy.
\n
• Oversee the finance function, ensuring effective financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management.
\n
• Support business growth by providing commercial insight and financial guidance on new projects and investment opportunities.
\n
• Improve financial processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
\n
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support funding discussions where required.
\n
• Work closely with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and suppliers, to maintain strong financial relationships.
\n

\nKey Skills & Experience:\n

\n
• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant.
\n
• Minimum 5-7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a finance leadership role within construction, property development, or a related sector.
\n
• Strong commercial and operational finance experience, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
\n
• Hands-on approach, comfortable working in an SME environment where adaptability is key.
\n
• Excellent analytical skills and experience managing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
\n
