FINANCE MANAGER REPORTING TO: Financial Controller Working closely as part of a small team in this exciting SME on the outskirts of Colchester, the Finance Manager will support the Financial Controller in a range of reporting and general accounting tasks along with other ad hoc responsibilities. The position
is varied and can offer an increased scope of work as the individual progresses, with regular exposure to the CFO. Responsible for:
Purchase invoice upload processing (automated matching) and supplier statement reconciliationProcessing of credit card transactionsTracking and processing of revenue, issuing statements to clients, communicating with client accounts payable departmentsCalculation of prepayments/accruals/deferred income, liaising with other departments as appropriatePresenting formal pack of balance sheet reconciliations to the Financial Controller for reviewEnsuring adherence to day to day controls and processesPosting of project costing transactions, and preparation of project cost reports for review by Financial ControllerAssisting with management accounts, overhead budgets and variance analysisAssisting with year end audit preparation and tax analysisVarious ad hoc projects relating to project costing and the cost base generally inc resource utilisation, property utilisation, project deep-dives etc. Person specification:
Qualified ACA/ACCABackground in accountancy practice/audit strongly preferred.Accurate, self-starting, conscientious, motivated, approachable.Able to demonstrate initiative and superb attention to detail.Excel skills to include pivots, IF functions etc as a minimum (further training support provided beyond this).Previous experience of Sage advantageous but not essential.Salary and role development commensurate with experience. Study support available if required after probationary period.
