Finance Manager £50,000 per annum 15 month contract + bonus on completion Hybrid / flexible working Hays Accountancy and Finance are working with our client who engages in a dynamic industry with market-leading products, who can offer a range of benefits for the right candidate: Premium Belfast office space Bonus on completion One day a week in the office Quarterly Mental Health Days (MHD) Birthday or Another Meaningful Paid Day Off Job description The Finance Manager will work to ensure a "best in class" finance service to a rapidly growing business, lead the team in accounting operations, and fulfil corporate reporting requirements. Manage team performance by leading all team talent management and development activity and set out annual team and individual SMART goals in support of and alignment with overall business strategy. Create development plans for all direct reports, and complete regular check ins and reviews to review progress, provide feedback and accountability. Complete employment cycle management activities including hiring, performance management, and termination activities. Foster collaboration amongst the team and stakeholders by participating in team discussions, knowledge sharing, and skill building sessions. Ensure team projects are completed within the scope and timeline of each project. Address escalated issues with speed, urgency, and accuracy in support of the team. Work closely with the General Manager and wider management team to develop and implement financial strategies. Prepare and review deliverables for group and/or portfolio reporting, ensuring they are completed correctly and submitted on time. Prepare and present monthly management pack, and any other financial reports for management, leadership, or the wider team. Manage business cash flow, identifying and reporting on potential risks. Embed financial understanding at all levels across the business including preparing data and information for operational meeting cadences, e.g. monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc. Lead interactions with auditors and manage deliverables for annual audit. Utilise system-based management by employing existing processes to facilitate team management, and leverage management support to drive results. Participates in team rituals, collecting data on progress and receiving updates on status and process. Engage in team activities in a hands-on manner; personally contribute to team activities and achievements. Complete ad-hoc analysis, team, individual project work as required by the business. Review and approve month end balance sheet reconciliations to ensure sustained quality, and approve variance analysis on monthly and quarterly results. Liaise with functions/departments as needed (i.e. group/portfolio contacts, tax team, payroll team). Maintain finance processes, ensuring that they are documented appropriately and adhered to by relevant parties, reviewing and maintaining SOP, best practice (COSO), and Risk Control Matrix documentation. What you will need; A recognised professional accounting qualification, i.e. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent. 5+ years of accounting/finance work experience post training contract. 2+ years of direct people management experience, especially remote. Experience working in a software business, SaaS preferred. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains. Experience with cloud-based billing software. A strong understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and ability to apply these standards. Presentation skills to enable the clear and concise delivery of information in oral and written presentations. Strong technical aptitude including advanced proficiency in the use of Office suite (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) with emphasis on Excel. Ability to work a flex schedule to accommodate supporting multiple global time zones, including the USA Mountain time zone, as well as month end deadlines.
