Role Description

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of Finance Operations objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Bank Reconciliation and Accounts Payable Teams by providing effective leadership, maintaining standards, servicing key stakeholders and timely delivery of reporting for the team. Management of business touchpoints, improvement of efficiency, standardisation and consistency across operational areas, through effective process design and control. Work is achieved through direct reports as well as offshore teams. This role will be reporting into the Finance Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
Managing the Bank Reconciliation and Accounts Payable Teams, in particular understanding the potential risks, ensuring a control framework is implemented, managing output and business critical deadlines associated with the function
Managing the teams ensuring adherence at all times to best practice, Service Level Agreements, regulatory requirements, Group Policies and Quality standards to ensure compliance within the processing activities
Establish, track and report on key metrics to evaluate process performance and ensure team effectiveness
Provide the team with the necessary technical support in order to resolve queries and technical issues in a timely manner to ensure that SLA's and regulatory standards are met
Motivating, coaching and developing team members to ensure that objectives are met through priority setting and personal development targets
Responsible for the resource and workflow management of the team on a day-to-day basis as well as ccoordinating and contributing to the recruitment of new team members
Contribute to the design of end-to-end financial processes emphasizing scalability, efficiency and alignment with organisational objectives. Continuously identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and deliver measurable outcomes
Ensure all process workflows, guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP's) are fully documented for reference and training purposes
Partner across teams to align financial processes with broader organisational strategies. Engage stakeholders across departments to ensure buy-in, understanding and successful implementation of process improvements
The ability to interpret and analyse complex data and financial information and using this to make informed decisions

Skills & Experience
Self-motivated with excellent management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail whilst maintaining the ability to see the big picture
A track record of coaching and developing team members
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other office applications
Desirable - proven experience of leading larger teams ideally within the insurance industry
Track record of leading teams through change, developing and implementing strategy and process change
Experience in a leadership role
Experience in working with Shared Service teams
Achieving challenging targets and KPIs in a high pressure environment
Experience of delivering changes to systems or processes
Understanding of governance frameworks
Experience of Oracle / SAP would be advantageous

Qualifications
Qualified by Experience / part qualified finance individual
