Job Title: Financial Accountant

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum

Location: Runcorn, Cheshire

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Financial Accountant to join the finance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and improving our Client's financial processes and contributing to the business's success.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports for three legal entities in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and post the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Processing weekly & ad hoc sales invoices.
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Process invoices for suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Perform periodic reconciliation of accounts, including bank statements.
  • Preparation of key monthly flash reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with commercial departments to optimise financial operations and support business objectives.
  • Lead preparation and submission of Returns – CIS PAYE/P11D/VAT etc
  • Assist in managing WIP, Debtors and Creditors.
  • Any reasonable and necessary tasks as instructed by a Superior

Experience and Skills You Will Bring:


  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
  • Part-qualified and QBE candidates with strong relevant experience would be considered.
  • Proven experience in a similar role in a busy, progressive and tightly managed medium-sized business.
  • Knowledge in the construction or property sector desirable.
  • Proficiency in computerized accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • High standard of written and verbal English
  • Flexible attitude to work, willing to play a full role in ensuring the success of the team
  • A meticulous and methodical approach
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy whilst working to deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels within the organisation..
