Financial Accountant

We're on the lookout for a Financial Accountant to join a friendly and dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the business meets its financial reporting obligations, maintains strong controls, and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

This role is based in Birmingham 2-3 days per week, with a salary of up to �55,000.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Preparing statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries and managing the audit process.

• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting obligations.

• Preparing VAT and tax returns, working with tax advisors to keep everything shipshape.

• Maintaining and reviewing control accounts and group balance sheets.

• Designing and reporting financial controls to help mitigate fraud and support compliance.

• Leading on asset management policies, controls, and reporting.

• Supporting the wider finance team to ensure resilience in operations.

What We're Looking For:

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified

• Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.

• Experience using nominal ledger systems.

• Advanced Excel skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-teamwork makes the dream work!

• A curious mindset and a drive to learn and develop.
