Alecto Recruitment are working with a specialist electrical contractor based in Kent, who are now looking to appoint a Financial Controller on a full time and permanent basis.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Finance and Managing Directors, the Financial Controller will hold responsibility for overseeing the financial health and operations of the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic budgeting.
You will play a critical role in managing project finances, optimising cash flow, and supporting sustainable growth in a dynamic and fast-evolving industry, working as part of a small close kit team as the only Financial Controller.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Expertise in financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Xero is essential).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred) or equivalent
• Certified accountant qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA,) is preferred
• 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably within the renewable energy or construction sector.
