Finance Manager required for an award-winning Cornish coastal hotel.





Overview

They are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong background in financial management and proficiency in various accounting software. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in guiding the financial strategy and supporting the overall growth of the company.





Responsibilities




  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

  • Manage cash flow and forecasting to ensure the financial stability of the organisation.

  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Collaborate with departmental heads to prepare budgets and monitor performance against targets.

  • Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Provide insightful analysis of financial data to support strategic decision-making.

  • Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely resolution of any issues raised.

  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.



Qualifications




  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in relation to accounts payable and receivable functions.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is essential.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across departments.

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous but not mandatory.



Pay: £50,000.00-£53,000.00 per year
